The BriefWe worked with South Tyneside design agency Urban River on the “Can’t Stop” Northumberland College campaign, rolled out in Spring 2009 to promote the college’s open days. The campaign ran across print, radio, web and cinema. We were engaged to produce two 30-second commercials, for use in cinemas and online.
Our ResponseUrban River generated initial concepts for print ad ideas, which each featured a different area of the College’s prospectus, from which we chose two to create commercials from. We developed the ‘Travel & Tourism’ and ‘Construction’ concepts into 30’ spots, and created scripts and storyboards. We filmed each ad over the course of a single day, and carried out all of the post-production in-house to the point of delivery for transfer to film. We shot on HDCAM using an experienced TV and short-film crew, ensuring high production values for both commercials, so that they would transfer well to 35mm film.
The campaign was judged a success by the college, boosting open day attendances by more than 300% on 2008 levels. We were delighted with YourFilm’s interpretation of the concepts, and understanding of the target audience. We felt they delivered strong, impactful adverts.
