We are often contacted by talented individuals looking for freelance work, placements or inductions. The media-production industry is highly competitive, with many experienced artists struggling to find regular work.
At YourFilm we utilise freelance agents on a job-by-job basis. Our pool of composers, graphic artists, 3D artists, camera operators and audio technicians is made up of talented individuals who have submitted a CV and showreel demonstrating their ability. Individuals wishing to be considered for work should email us.
We offer work experience placements to students through Connexions Tyne & Wear. Interested students should contact Connexions for more details.
We are happy to offer advice and guidance to graduates where possible. We always advise individuals based in the North East who are in interested in filmmaking to contact Northern Film and Media for advice, guidance, access to funding opportunities and the chance to meet many like minded people. For those based elsewhere in the UK, the UK Film Council website can guide you to your local agency.
Our advice to people looking to get a foot on the ladder is don’t give up. There is no obvious or easy path into this sector, so be willing to work hard, network, knock on many doors and get as much experience as possible!
